Xtool P2 Laser Cutter and Engraver

The xTool P2 is a superior laser cutter for schools that seek for more efficiency and capacity, without compromising on the safety of the students nor the easiness of use.

New smart technologies allow it to work in more versatile ways, such as engraving on curved surfaces, opening new doors for student’s creativity.

This Xtool P2 EDU bundle is Makeblock Educational product. In Australia it is an exclusive at Pakronics.

Safety as a Priority

The lid locks when the work starts and until the work is completed or paused

Transparent lid with shading for eye protection

         Emergency stop button

         Automatic fire safety set                           (additional)

        Airtight sealing of the lid

Built-in exhaust fan to evacuate the           fumes

The new air purifier includes a side vent to connect another exhaust pipe and direct the filtered emissions outside the working environment

xTool P2 smart technologies to support creativity

Panoramic camera: quickly generate panoramic photos.

Close-range camera: can take more accurate photos with the movement of the laser head to any position.

More accurate positioning with the two 16MP cameras providing real-time preview of the work area.

New! Engrave designs on uneven surfaces.

Using the point capture function of the close range camera, a model of the surface is automatically generated, so the xTool P2 can adjust the focal length in motion to perform curved surface engraving.

Auto focus: automatic measurement of material thickness and material height.

Batch processing: The AI system automatically detects the shape of the items and processes them in batches at one time.

The xTool P2 Creative Space (XCS) software allows for more editing and operational possibilities than its predecessor. Apart from having a more friendly and intuitive UI, XCS allows precise positioning of designs, creating multiple canvas, and other useful operations.

XCS can be used offline and it’s compatible with Windows and Mac operative systems.

xTool P2 high performance laser machine

Acrylic, kraft paper, cardboard, wood board, leather, plastic, MDF, glass, marble, ceramic, and more. The xTool P2 can work with different types of materials, many of them available as consumables by Makeblock Education.

xTool P2 vs M1, education scenarios

  • Focus on moderate production, whole classroom projects .

  • Bigger working area: 600 x 305 mm

  • CO2 Laser can cut wood, cardboard, paper and any acrylic ,but cannot engrave on metal.

  • Cutting/engraving more than 5x faster than M1

  • Fits on a desktop, ideally on a fixed location.

  • It can do engraving on cylinders up to 42mm in diameter. It can also engrave on curved surfaces.

  • Focus on small production, creating individual projects, art pieces.

  • Smaller working area: 385 x 300 mm

  • Blue diode laser, can engrave on most metals, and cut wood, cardboard, paper, and opaque acrylic.

  • Slightly more sharpness of the laser point allows for finer details.

  • Relatively portable, as it is lighter than the P2.

  • Blade cutting for thin sheets and foils to avoid burning, specially PVC adhesive film, which can release aggressive and corrosive chemicals if using laser cutting.

Laser cutting safety 101

Know How the Laser Works (easy with P2)

Protect Your Eyes (easy with P2)

Beware of Fumes and Prepare for Fires

Regular maintenance (not optional)

Never Leave Your Laser Unattended (not optional)

Know Your Material (critical)

Material Safety

NEVER laser cut any material containing Chlorine.

Vinyl and PVC (Cintra) will produce a corrosive gas – both contain chlorine.

Polycarbonate (PC, Lexan) will produce a black and yellow gas that will make your sick to your stomach.

Fiberglass or Printed circuit boards (FR4, G10, anything resin-based)

Carbon Fibre .

BEST ADVICE TO LIVE BY: IF IT DOESN’T SAY SAFE TO LASERCUT, AVOID.
