Description
The Grove Starter kit for Azure IoT Edge is a joint-effort developed by Microsoft and Seeed Studio. The kit integrates Azure IoT Edge service and SeeedStudio’s most popular modular ready-to-use tool set – Grove, aims at helping developers get started quickly and conveniently with Azure IoT Edge.
Azure IoT Edge is a fully managed service that delivers cloud intelligence locally, With Azure IoT Edge, you can seamlessly deploy and run artificial intelligence, Azure services, and custom logic directly on cross-platform IoT devices—from a small Raspberry Pi to large industrial machines. And manage it all centrally in the cloud with the security of Microsoft.
The kit includes the latest Raspberry Pi 3 B+ to run Edge, 4 well-selected Grove modules that act as sensors, display, and actuator. There are also a 4-Mic Pi Hat and a Raspberry Pi Camera Module in this kit, which brings more possibilities to applications like Face & Vision recognition, Speech recognition, and LUIS etc. with Microsoft’s cognitive services. What’s more, the kit also includes a 16GB SD card with pre-configured Raspbian image to bring out-of-the-box experience for the users.
Three Scenarios to Get Started (Coming Soon)
1. Object identification and Face Detection with Camera
In this scenario, you will build an application that can recognize object and face, and display what’s being detected on the OLED display.
2. Environment Monitor
In this scenario, you will make a real-time environment monitor to monitor the ambient temperature, humidity, and barometer.
3. Speech/Language Recognition
In this scenario, you will make a application based on Microsoft’s Cognitive Service such as Bing Speech, LUIS etc. without using IoT Edge.

Dispatch time
Unless expressly agreed otherwise with you, we will not commence delivery of an order until we have received cleared payment of the purchase price in full.
All orders placed before 11 am AEST (Monday to Friday) will ordinarily be processed on the same day.

Receipt of deliveries
Deliveries to post office boxes are not permitted where delivery is by courier. If delivery is by courier and nobody is available at the delivery address to accept delivery when delivery is attempted then the courier may either:
- leave the relevant parcel at the unattended address (the courier will do so if specified in your delivery requirements); or
- re-attempt delivery at a later time or date, in which case we may charge you an additional re-delivery fee.
Note that if a delivery is left unattended at the shipping address and is subsequently stolen then the theft is your responsibility, not ours.
