Description
Raspberry Pi Pico 2 is equipped with the RP2350 chip and has been upgraded in various aspects.
The RP2350 microcontroller adopts a comprehensive security architecture based on Arm TrustZone, offering features such as secure boot, 8KB antifuse OTP key storage, SHA-256 accelerator, hardware true random number generator, and fast glitch detectors. These security features are extensively documented and available to all users. This transparent approach stands in stark contrast to the "security through obscurity" provided by traditional vendors, allowing professional users to confidently integrate the RP2350 and Raspberry Pi Pico 2 into their products.
The RP2350 also has a unique dual-core, dual-architecture capability, enabling users to choose between a pair of industry-standard Arm Cortex-M33 cores and a pair of open-source Hazard3 RISC-V cores. Raspberry Pi Pico 2 supports programming in C/C++ and Python and comes with comprehensive documentation resources, making it an ideal choice for enthusiasts and professional developers alike.
Whether you are a beginner or a professional developer, Raspberry Pi Pico 2 will be an excellent choice for your microcontroller development needs. Get yours now and embark on your creative journey!
Different between Raspberry Pi Pico 1 and Raspberry Pi Pico 2
- Microcontroller: Pico 2 uses the new RP2350 microcontroller, while the Pico 1 uses the RP2040.
- Performance Boost: Pico 2 has a clock speed of up to 150MHz, compared to 133MHz in the Pico 1.
- Memory Capacity: Pico 2 has 520KB of on-board SRAM, which is double that of the Pico 1.
- Storage Capacity: Pico 2 has 4MB of on-board Flash storage, which is double that of the Pico 1.
- Processor Architecture: Pico 2 offers a choice between Arm Cortex-M33 cores or open-source RISC-V Hazard3 cores, while the Pico 1 only has an Arm Cortex-M0+ core.
- Security: The RP2350 chip in Pico 2 adopts a comprehensive security architecture based on Arm TrustZone, providing numerous security features, which are not present in the Pico 1.
- Compatibility: Despite the various upgrades and improvements, Pico 2 maintains hardware and software compatibility with the Pico 1.
